Need
Communities from remote areas of Bangladesh do not often get access to health care due to lack of access, financial issues or both. Also there is a void of charitable aid in this area of the world, and many deserving people who need help with health care issues, we aim to supply a facility which is greatly needed by lots of small, isolated communities
Solution
The floating Hospital will be able to access these communities by water, (river or coastal), there fore ensuring these people will get the health care that they so desperately need and deserve. We will also provide health care education enabling these people to become independent with regard to their health care.
Aims
To enable communities in remote areas access to health care
Activities
» To travel to these areas using floating hospital and offer treatment and health care to the communities who usually miss out on this
Success will be to enable communities to access the health care they need, 20 communities for the first year would be good
Prevention of disability and illness
Activities
» Distribution of preventative medicines to children who don't get access to health care.
» Provision of Safe Motherhood project to ensure successful preganancy, birth and development of strong and healthy babies.
Success will be a drop of 60% at least in major illness and disbility in these communities in first year of operation.
Education of health care issues
Activities
» When travelling to these comunities the hospital will also hold seminars for the local community, distribute leaflets to teach about health issues
Success will be that these communities will become fully educated on the issues of nutrition, personal health and illness prevention, 60% drop in illness in 1st year of operation
Care and Treatment of those with illness and disability
Activities
» Doctors on the facility will diagnose and give treatment and care where they deem necessary
Success will be the successful treatment of those suffering from illness to complete recovery
Impact
We wish that these communities will have sustainable access to health care, they will learn how to live healthily. A drop in major illness and disability by hopefully at least 60% over the next year initially would be good, with the view of building on this in the future.
