Need
Some talented young people’s home circumstances prevent them from going to university - perhaps they have to care for a parent, work to support younger siblings, or come from a low income family.
Solution
One Degree More aims to support 30 students per year from across Wiltshire and Swindon to realise their dream of going to university.
Aims
To support 30 young disadvantaged people each year realise their dream of going to University.
Activities
» By working with local schools and organisations we will identify young people who need this help to fulfill their potential.
Success will be having a community of young people achieving their academic goals and going on to build careers in their chosen fields to the benefit of society as a whole.
Impact
Knowing that support is available will raise the aspirations of young people in the area to achieve greater things than they might have thought possible before. The success stories of each individual student will be testament to the importance of the funding they received through One Degree More.
Risk
We are able to support children from West Wiltshire already but would like to spread this to the whole county. We know there are beneficiaries waiting to be found but the risk is that the funding cannot be raised. We are making a significant investment in publicising the need and our campaign to meet it.
Reporting
Regular articles on our website and in newsletters and other publications about the students successes.
