4x4 Vehicle for the Emmanuel Care and Advice Centre

The Big Idea

To purchase an Isuzu 1 ton Diesel utility vehicle for the Emmanuel Care and Advice Centre.

Emmanuel Care and Advice Centre is in real need of a vehicle.

Imagine running a project with 40 staff, in a community of 150,000 without any transport. The project has no capital to purchase a vehicle.

The Project Manager often has to travel to the provincial capital 350 kilometers away. Currently she uses local mini bus taxis which are slow, overcrowded and sometimes dangerous, as well as expensive. Added to this, when food donations are made by local businesses, Emmanuel care and Advice Centre is often unable to get there in time to collect. A vehicle would enable the project to perform so much better.

The project is profound in its work, but very very humble in its resources. The 'office' is currently a converted shipping container, as is the the 'kitchen' from which upto 600 vulnerable children receive a daily meal. It operates 3 satellite offices from tiny storerooms in schools and another 20ft container.
