Burning the Clocks with Young Same Sky

December 2011 - December 2012

The Big Idea

A legacy project designed by 16- 25yr olds to develop their employability and enterprise skills. Through work experience on a local event Burning the Clocks we provide young people with transferable skills in event design, light art technology, fundraising, community and project development

Impact

It will secure the development of the youth led arm of the company called Young Same Sky. Train them in all aspects of the business including fundraising which will then define and plan and shape its sustainable future. This project will help to develop the next generation of young leaders in the private and public sector, creative industries, community, voluntary and education sector. Success will be 5 young people gaining employment in these areas and 10 gaining a gold arts award.

Risk

The risk is that we are oversubscribed. We have dealt with this by developing close links with local front line services, schools and colleges to prepare a waiting list of opportunities. We are now actively fundraising to deliver Young Same Sky projects throughout the year with specific developments attached to key flagship events.

Reporting

Donors of this project will receive monthly email/ blog reports from the young people, detailing project and individual progress or any changes to planned activity. They will be invited by the young people to finale events and celebrations.
