Need
20,000 Voices needs to raise £20,000 to cover development and management of projects for 2011-12. Without this additional funding we will not be able to run our full programme for the year.
Solution
We have already secured funding for many of our projects, and have funding applications pending for others. We are mounting a big appeal to raise the additional £20,000 that we need to cover the remainder of our costs. We know people value what we do, and that they think we are a unique and effective charity. We want to give them an opportunity to financially support our development.

» Plan interesting and enjoyable projects for new singers in different locations
» Work closely with communities to provide real and relevant opportunities for them to sing together
Success will be seeing new projects and singing groups flourish, and seeing 3 new choirs established by March 2012.
To raise £20,000 to support our on-going work and development, to enable us to plan ahead
Activities
» Appeal to all our current singers and vocal leaders to support our work by donating the cost of a day's singing - £27, or half a day's work.
» A wide appeal via email, social networking and our website to encourgage people to give on-line.
Success will be reaching our target of £20,000 and therefore being able to support our work more effectively.
Impact
Our appeal will give us more financial stability. This will enable us to make long-term plans for singers, vocal leaders and projects. We will be able to support new work that we have set up, and help it to thrive in the future.
Risk
We might not get enough singers to make it possible to set up a regular group. We will make sure we are able to sign-post people to other singing opportunities if we can't set something up in their own location. We may not raise our full target amount. We will continue to seek funds from a wide variety of sources, so that we are not only reliant on grants and donations.
Reporting
Donors can sign up for our email bulletins, and also follow us on Facebook and Twitter. They can also visit our website, which will have several new features by the end of the year. Major donors will receive a letter of thanks if we have their contact details.

Location
Mainly in Northumberland. 20,000 Voices is based in Newbiggin by the Sea, but works in a wide variety of locations. We also provide some projects in other parts of the north east. We give support and advice for singers, vocal leaders and other organisations.
Beneficiaries
New singers who attend our "start up" projects. All our existing participants as they see our work develop. Singing in the north east - as new singers start to take part in in other vocal activities

Why Us?
We have been providing singing opportunities in Northumberland and the north east for nearly 18 years. Our participant base consists of loyal and regular singers, and new singers who find out they enjoy singing so much that they want to do more! We have good links with other musical and community organisations, so we can provide relevant activities for different groups.
