Concordis International works impartially alongside those involved in or affected by armed conflict, so that through dialogue they may build relationships of mutual trust & lay foundations for peace.
WORKING TO PREVENT AND RESOLVE VIOLENT CONFLICT
Our guiding principles are the following:
Impartiality
Strategic intervention - using in depth analysis we try to understand as much as possible about the situations we work in and take account of complexity
Long-term engagement
Doing no harm - we recognise potential negative impact of interventions & seek to ensure ours do not have unintended consequences
Inclusivity - we seek fairness in including representatives from as many strands of opinion as appropriate to the dialogues we facilitate
Independence - we do not succumb to pressure to advance the interests of 3rd parties
Co-operation
Humility - we recognise we do not have all the answers and that our contribution should be part of a broad engagement by ba number of organisations
Currently our main focus is with the war-torn country of Sudan, but we are monitoring and researching other areas where our involvement has been requested including Afghanistan, Kenya and Israel/Palestine.
