Living Earth Foundation
Living Earth Foundation is an international non-for-profit organisation. Specialising in sustainable development globally, from urban livelihoods in Uganda, to energy provision in Nigeria.
Living Earth was established as an international not-for-profit organisation in 1987, specialising in working with people to resolve their environmental concerns. Our vision is of a living Earth where people learn and act together to help sustain the systems and resources necessary for a fulfilled life. Our mission is to turn ideas into action: working with all sectors of society to build and nurture an environment which enables people to develop effective solutions to environmental concerns.
We believe that solutions cannot be learned from a textbook: they cannot be prescribed from the top down. Each situation is unique, requiring its own individual approach. Rather than imposing solutions, Living Earth helps to develop people's knowledge, skills and abilities in response to their needs. Living Earth has developed an international remit because we believe that many of the challenges society now faces are of a global nature and will be most effectively addressed by understanding different views and perspectives, sharing ideas across cultures and learning from each other to develop a locally appropriate response. We currently work in over eight countries from Uganda to Venezuela, Nigeria to Sakhalin and Living Earth Foundation (UK) is at the heart of a growing network of organisations around the world.
